Sometimes, you wake up feeling sad and you do not know why.
This feeling is more common than most people think, and you are not alone.
Two friends, Mia and James, decided to talk about it one afternoon.
A close-up of a young woman at a cafe table, eyes downcast and voice soft, hands wrapped around a warm cup as she quietly admits how she has been feeling
"I have been feeling really low lately," Mia said quietly.
James listened carefully and did not try to fix her feelings right away.
"I am sorry to hear that," he said gently.
"Do you want to talk about what is going on?" Mia explained that she felt tired, unmotivated , and disconnected from people she loved.
A young woman gazing out of a cafe window with a distant, weary expression, her hands resting still on the table, conveying tiredness and quiet disconnection
James told her that it was okay to feel that way and that her feelings were valid .
He suggested that she speak with a counsellor or a trusted adult.
Mia had not thought about asking for professional help before.
James reminded her that small steps, like going for a walk or calling a friend, can help too.
A young man smiling warmly while gesturing toward the outdoors, a pair of walking shoes and a phone resting on the cafe table between them as he suggests small comforting steps
By the end of their conversation , Mia felt a little lighter.
Talking openly about your feelings is one of the bravest things you can do.
