The night sky was filled with thousands of stars, and I could not stop looking up.
I walked outside after dinner and felt the cool air on my face.
The moon was bright and round, lighting up the field around me.
I looked for the Big Dipper, a group of stars that is easy to find.
Near it, I could see the North Star, which sailors once used to find their way.
The Milky Way stretched across the sky like a river of light.
I knew that each star was actually a giant ball of fire, much like our own sun.
Some of those stars are so far away that their light takes thousands of years to reach us.
A small dot of light moved slowly across the sky - it was a satellite passing overhead.
I also spotted a bright planet near the horizon , which I later learned was Venus.
Scientists believe that billions of planets exist in our galaxy alone.
Some of these planets may be similar to Earth and could support life.
The more I looked, the more I felt how large and mysterious the universe really is.
Standing under that clear sky reminded me that there is so much left to discover .
